A Franklinton native, Shelley Thomas Stewart serves as Clifton’s Children’s Director. She is a 2002 graduate of Bowling Green School, and earned both a bachelor’s and masters degree in Speech Language Pathology from The University of Southern Mississippi. In her everyday life, she ministers to children as a speech therapist for the Washington Parish School Board.
Shelley grew up at Clifton Baptist Church, participating in our children’s and youth ministries as a student, and jumped into a leadership role in children’s ministry, leading Vacation Bible School and other summer activities for our children. After spending a couple of years working out of state, she returned to Franklinton, and has been our Children’s Ministry Director since 2009.
Shelley’s love for children and her heart for teaching them about God shines through whether she is leading Vacation Bible School, teaching children during our Wednesday evening activities, or experiencing the wonders of CentriKid summer camp with our 3rd-6th graders.
Shelley is married to Wayne Stewart, previously of Amite, and in her spare time enjoys exploring flea markets and craft fairs with him. She also loves reading, playing board games and spending time with her friends and extended family.
